Bono Rambani a young pastor hailing from Makwarela in Limpopo affectionately known as Pastor B has broken barriers with his first ever single that sounds nothing like your usual gospel songs. Pastor B who authored the book ‘Church in the wild’ is practicing what he preaches by unboxing the gospel and using every medium possible to spread the message of God’s love for the world.
He has taken the wild sounds of the Gqom genre made famous by the likes of Babes Wodumo which is synonymous with late night parties and the club scene and brought it to church. This is like nothing that has been done before and brings a breath of fresh air, especially to the many young church goers who often find gospel music irrelevant and boring for their liking.
The song which is titled ‘Makomborero’ a word translated “Blessings” in Shona has been causing waves on various social media platforms as well as radio stations and is the first single of a five track EP that is due to be released later this year. He said “coming from a musical family, it has always been my dream to share my gifts with the world so I’m glad that I finally got to do that and am overwhelmed by all the love that I’m getting.”
This is an all round hit and is well capable of crossing over to even the non religious crowds as it possess all the qualities of a fully fledged Gqom song with it’s thumpy beats and catchy hook. He features, singer Tdee, rapper Dizzy as well as Producer /Artist Sir MckLekker who equally contribute to the richness of the track which even boasts five different languages with no doubt that it will get Africans dancing and singing alike.
Those who don’t want to miss out on this new wave can download or stream the song on a variety of online platforms. Deezer, iTunes, Googleplay, Spotify, Soundclound, Sliquer Online and Joox.
